The Pensive

        The motor car started off from the garage, Mrs. ERISED NITSOL went through her to do list. She was halfway through the list completing chores and checking the boxes in the list. A cute babble made her add few more boxes to her list like, changing the soiled pyjamas, feeding her little tyke and so on. Sweet faced tucked on her hip she moved into the kitchen to get some food. This was her most challenging task of every day which made her transform into a storyteller, a clown, a singer and at times even dancer untill her curly haired doll's tiny stomach got filled. After edutaining her two year old for an hour she put her back to nap and checked all the recently added boxes in her list and moved into her utility area  where she Sorted all clothes, washed them separately and pegged them accordingly, this made her feel a bit relieved as most of the boxes in the list got checked.                               It was one such exhausted weekend and I planned to do my monthly shopping.  This time my shopping list included  Perfume as the 6 month old Victoria's secret bottle got shifted from my closet to the empty perfume bottle collection box. I decided to shop the perfume at the last as I was completely aware  of how long I would take to buy one.                              When I entered the perfume section in the supermarket I was greeted by a salesperson with a freindly face. When he asked for my preferences I replied that I'm looking for a different brand, especially the one that would last longer both in terms of quantity and fragrance. I knew I sounded funny yet I was convinced that I had made my requirement clear. With his help I sorted out  few perfumes and finnally picke...

                     The one question I was never able to answer was,"How will you define the word 'Appa'?". 'Appa' - Is it a phrase? Or a sentence? May be an emotion?. Whatever be it, To me it just means one thing,The selfless. Yes , The biggest room in my home is mine. The largest wardrobe is mine. The most comfortable bathroom in the house belongs to me. The crunches in the refrigerator, vegies in the vegetable basket, Newspapers on the shelf and shoes in the shoe rack, all of these have been mine. They were always organized and maintained according to my needs and wants. Appa has just been the source of it. His entire bank savings got depleted for my education and marriage. Through all the walks of my life he is with me not as a dictator but as a silent spectator. Therefore it's not the word LOVE, but the word SELFLESS that  defines him the best.                   ...
